Mati 

a river in Albania. Length, 104 km; basin area, 2,500 sq km. Rises in the Cermenika mountains. In its upper course it flows along the floor of a narrow canyon and then through a valley with sharp widenings. Along its lower course the Mati flows in a swampy coastal lowland and flows into the Gulf of Drin of the Adriatic Sea. Average annual rate of discharge at the mouth is 72 cu m per sec. Timber is floated. A hydroelectric power plant and a reservoir are located at the populated area of Ulza.
