matting
a coarsely woven fabric, usually made of a natural fibre such as straw or hemp and used as a floor covering, packing material, etc.

Matting 

dense, woven or plaited cloth of bast, straw, rushes, reeds, or similar material. It is widely used in domestic life among the people of Oceania, southern Asia, and Africa for seats, bed and floor coverings, tablecloths, napkins, and wall decorations. Matting is often decorated with colored designs or tassels.
