Mazatenango 

a city in western Guatemala, the administrative center of Suchitepequez Department. Population, 24,400 (1971). It is connected by railroad with Guatemala City and with the port of Champerico. It is the center of an agricultural region that produces coffee, sugarcane, cocoa, and tropical fruits. There is a food-processing industry.
