McKinley, Ida (b. Saxton) (1847–1907) First Lady; born in Canton, Ohio. She married William McKinley in 1871. Following the untimely deaths of her mother and two daughters in 1873–1875, she developed epilepsy and became an invalid. McKinley remained devoted to her; he carefully tended to her, even while he was president.
