Medicine Creek State Recreation Area Location: 2 miles west of Cambridge on Highway 6 and 34, then 7 miles north on county road. Facilities: 316 campsites (70 with electrical hookups; 76 sites have camping pads), modern restrooms as well as latrines, showers, picnic areas, 11 picnic shelters, concession (restaurant, grocery, supplies, fuel, cabins), boat rentals, 3 boat ramps, 3 docks, 2 fish cleaning stations, swimming beach. Activities: Camping, boating (all types), fishing, swimming, hunting. Special Features: The recreation area and associated wildlife land encompass some 8,500 acres of public land and water. Located in the heart of southwest Nebraska's quail and pheasant range, this area is one of the finest public hunting areas in the state.
