Meganticlinorium
a complex folded mountain structure consisting of several anticlinoria and the synclinoria that divide them, grouped so that an anticlinal structure is located in the center, or consisting of an accumulation of overthrust sheets. The meganticlinorium originates in the concluding stages of the development of a geosynclinal system. Examples include the structures of the Urals, Appalachians, Greater Caucasus, Carpathians, and Alps. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
