Mekhanika Tverdogo Tela 

(Mechanics of Solids; full title, Izvestiia AN SSSR; Mekhanika tverdogo tela), a scientific periodical; organ of the Division of Mechanics and Control Processes of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. It has been published in Moscow since 1966. From 1966 to 1968 its title was Inzhenernyi zhurnal: Mekhanika tverdogo tela (Engineering Journal: Mechanics of Solids). It acquired its present title in 1969.

Mekhanika tverdogo tela publishes theoretical and experimental studies in mechanics of deformable solids and deformable solid media and their structures and elements. It discusses problems of the dynamics of systems of point masses and the absolute rigid body; theories of stability of motion and of processes of control of moving objects; theories of hydroscopic devices, elasticity, plasticity, and creep; mechanics of polymers, soils, and heterogeneous solids; and strength of materials and structures. Circulation, 1,600 (1974). It is published in English in the USA.
