Menindee Lakes

Series of reservoirs, western New South Wales, Australia. Located near the town of Menindee, they are part of the Darling River Conservation Scheme. The lakes are flooded through creeks linking them with the Darling River. The total capacity of the Menindee Lakes Storage Scheme is some 87.21 billion cubic ft (2.47 billion cubic m). Menindee is an Aboriginal word meaning “egg yolk.”
