Merostomoidea
a class of fossil primitive arthropods. They are from the Cambrian and Ordovician in North America and the Devonian in Western Europe. They bear some resemblance to trilobites but differ from them in the structure of their limbs and by usually having a rodlike caudal spine (telson). There were five orders, comprising about ten genera. REFERENCEOsnovy paleontologii. Chlenistonogie: Trihbitoobraznye i rakoobraznye. Moscow, 1960. Page 195.Want to thank TFD for its existence?
