(Meteorology and Hydrology), a monthly scientific and technical journal concerned with general, synoptic, dynamic, experimental, and applied meteorology (aviation, medical, agricultural, technical); climatology; land hydrology; oceanography; and the hydrometeorological service. It first appeared in September 1935 as the organ of the Central Administration of the United Hydrometeorological Service and Geographical Society of the USSR, replacing Vestnik EGMS (Journal of the United Hydrometeorological Service) and Meteorologicheskii vestnik (Journal of Meteorology), which were published from 1891 to 1935. From January 1938 it was the organ of the Chief Administration of the Hydrometeorological Service of the USSR. The journal was regularly published until June 1941, when it was replaced by nonperiodical collections published under the same name. It was revived in September 1950.
