(pseudonym of M. Metsaturian). Born January 1886, in the village of Binkian, Harput (Harberd) Vilayet, Turkey; died July 5, 1908, in Constantinople. Armenian poet.
Metsarents began to publish in 1903. His verse collections Rainbow and New Songs were published in 1907. His lyric poetry, which was influenced by French symbolism, is filled with sad meditations on the fate of the Armenian people suffering under Turkish oppression. Lyric love poetry occupies an important place in his works.
