Established: Authorized on September 1, 1965. Location: On the Pennsylvania/New Jersey border, 90 miles from Philadelphia and 64 miles from Newark. Facilities: Campgrounds, picnic area, rest rooms (é), boat rental, boat ramp, visitor centers (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail. Activities: Camping, hiking, bicycling, mountain climbing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, fishing, hunting, auto touring, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, wildlife viewing, guided tour. Special Features: This scenic area preserves relatively unspoiled land on both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania sides of the Middle Delaware River.
