Middlebury College

Middlebury College, at Middlebury, Vt.; coeducational; chartered and opened 1800. It is a small liberal arts college noted for its summer language schools, which pioneered in the development of specialized language study. It also operates graduate language schools in France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. The Bread Loaf School of English and the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference are also conducted by the college.

Queer affirmative action received attention in the world of academics after an October 2006 article in Inside Higher Ed reported that Vermont's Middlebury College would be the first to implement affirmative action for gay applicants.
They also celebrated Margaret's birthday, their grandson Daniel's graduation from Middlebury College in Vermont and their granddaughter Holly's master's degree from the University of Missouri.
Indian Rashna Kharas, 18, who is currently a freshman studying psychology and philosophy at Middlebury College, described the effect of Seeds for Peace on her community.
