Bochoridze, Mikhail Zakhar’evich
(also Mikho Z. Bochoridze). Born June 2 (14), 1873; died Aug. 31 (Sept. 13), 1913. Figure in the revolutionary movement. Bolshevik. Born into the family of a worker in the city of Telavi. From 1890 to 1900, Bochoridze was a blacksmith in the central workshops of the Transcaucasian railroad in Tiflis. He was a bookkeeper from 1901. He joined a workers’ social democratic circle in 1893. Between 1897 and 1903 he was a member of the Tiflis Committee of the RSDLP. From March 1903 he was a member of the Caucasus United Committee of the RSDRP. He managed the illegal Avlabar press. In 1905 he was one of the leaders of the workers’ armed bands. He was arrested in early 1906. He escaped from prison on Oct. 27, 1906, and continued to perform illegal party work in Tiflis, Baku, St. Petersburg, and in Stavropol’ Province. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
