Mikhailovka 

a city (settlement until 1948) administratively subordinate to the oblast and the center of Mikhailovka Raion, Volgograd Oblast, RSFSR. It is situated on the right bank of the Medveditsa River, a triburary of the Don. The city has a railroad station (Sebriakovo) on the Volgograd-Moscow line, 210 km northwest of Volgograd. Population, 54,000 (1973; 18,000 in 1939; 35,000 in 1959). Industrial enterprises include the P. A. ludin Sebriakovo Cement Plant, a combine producing asbestos cement goods, a factory manufacturing starter motors, a flour mill, a cannery, a creamery, and a meat and poultry combine. There is a grain elevator. Educational institutions include a technological technicum and a teachers’ training school. The city is the center of an important agricultural region.


Mikhailovka 

an urban-type settlement and center of Mikhailovka Raion, Zaporozh’e Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, 8 km from the Prishib railroad station (on the Zaporozh’e-Fedorovka line). Population, 15,400 (1973). It produces butter, foodstuffs, paint, and varnish.


Mikhailovka 

an urban-type settlement in Pereval’sk Raion, Voroshilovgrad Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, 9 km from the Kommunarsk station on the Rodakovo-Debal’tsevo railroad line. A poultry farm is located in Mikhailovka. Most of the inhabitants are employed at various enterprises in Kommunarsk.

an urban-type settlement in Cheremkhov Raion, Irkutsk Oblast, RSFSR. Station (Polovina) on the Trans-Siberian Railroad. Lime and refractory materials are produced, and there are railroad yards.

an urban-type settlement in Voroshilovgrad Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, 6 km from the Kartushino station on the Debal’tsevo-Dolzhanskaia railroad line. Coal is mined locally.

In response to the bells of the villages of Veriaevo and Gridino, a crowd of several thousand peasants coalesced in Veriaevo from at least ten surrounding villages, including Maleevka, Andreevka, Ferm, Mikhailovka, Dmitrievka, Pavlovka, Seniukhino, and Lubonos.
