Mikhailovskii

 

an urban-type settlement, administrative center of Mikhailovskii Raion, Altai Krai, RSFSR. Located in the Kulunda Steppe, 5 km from the Mikhailovka-Altaiskaia rail-road station. Local manufactures include dry milk and rein-forced-concrete products; a grain and livestock sovkhoz is also located there. Soda ash is extracted from lakes of the area, and a major soda ash combine operates in the nearby settlement of Malinovoe Ozero.
