Milium
a genus of grasses. A perennial or, less frequently, annual grass with small one-flower spikelets gathered into spreading panicles. There are six species inhabiting the temperate zone of the northern hemisphere. There are three species in the USSR. Wood millet (M. effusum) is a perennial rhizomic broadleaved grass that grows in forests and underbrush. Cattle eat this plant willingly but it has no great value as a fodder since it generally grows in small quantities. REFERENCEKormovye rasteniia senokosov i pastbishch SSSR, vol. 1. Edited by I. V.
