Historic Mill Creek State Park Location: In Cheboygan County, 3.5 miles southeast of Mackinaw City, on US 23. Facilities: Historic site, nature trails, interpretive center, museum store. Activities: Interpretive programs. Special Features: Mill Creek was the Straits of Mackinac's first industrial complex, providing lumber for the settlement of Mackinac Island in the 1790s. Demonstrations of hand-saw techniques and the power of a water-driven sawmill are provided at the site. Park also has scenic trails, and beaver dams may be seen along the western edge of the creek.
