Miller, Kenneth Hayes (1876–1952) painter, teacher; born in Oneida, N.Y. He traveled in Europe (1900), returned to New York City, continued to paint, and, most importantly, began his intermittent teaching career at the Art Students League (1911–51). His paintings are classically composed with richly glazed colors, as in The Fitting Room (1931). He was a teacher who influenced many artists, including Isabelle Bishop, Edward Hopper, and Reginald Marsh. How to thank TFD for its existence?
