Mindel glaciation [′min·dəl ‚glā·sē′ā·shən]
(geology) The second glacial stage of the Pleistocene in the Alps. Mindel Glaciation (named after the Mindel River, a tributary of the Danube), the name of one of the major periods of glaciation in the Alps. It was identified in 1909 by the German scientists A.
