The second glacial stage of the Pleistocene in the Alps.

Mindel Glaciation

(named after the Mindel River, a tributary of the Danube), the name of one of the major periods of glaciation in the Alps. It was identified in 1909 by the German scientists A. Penck and E. Brückner.
