Mining Congresses, World 

international conferences held since 1958. The first World Mining Congress was organized on the initiative of the State Mining Council of the Polish People’s Republic and the Coal Committee of the European Commission of the United Nations. Six world mining congresses were held between 1958 and 1970 (see Table I).

Beginning with the fourth congress, international exhibitions of mining equipment have been organized in conjunction with the world mining congresses. Intergormash-67, held at the time of the Fifth World Mining Congress, was the most impressive exhibition.
