Areas of interest along the route include: several state parks, including Lac qui Parle; the Lower Sioux Agency History Center, which provides a detailed history of the events of the US-Sioux Conflict of 1862; the Pioneer Village in Montevideo where 23 buildings tell the story of pioneer life in the late 1800's; Minnesota's Machinery Museum at Hanley Falls; Redwood Falls, home to the 200-acre wooded Alexander Ramsey Park; and Big Stone National Wildlife Refuge, which provides habitat for waterfowl, migratory birds and resident wildlife. Legth: 287 miles. Start/Endpoint: From east to west, byway begins at the junction of SR 25 near Belle Plaine and runs to the South Dakota state border at West Browns Valley.
