Minoka-Hill, Lillie Rose (1876–1952) physician; born on the St. Regis reservation in New York State. Daughter of a Mohawk mother and Philadelphia physician, Joshua G. Allen, she was raised on the reservation until age 5, then was educated in Philadelphia. She attended the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania (graduating 1899). She worked at a clinic and in private practice before marrying an Oneida, Charles Hill, in 1905; he took her to his farm in Oneida, Wis., expecting her to give up her career but gradually she returned to practicing medicine. She served the Oneida people of Wisconsin until 1952 with a combination of Western and Native American medicine.
