Minot

Minot (mī`nät), city (1990 pop. 34,544), seat of Ward co., NW N.Dak., on the Souris River; inc. 1887. It is a commercial and transportation center for an extensive agricultural, lignite-mining, and oil-producing region. Manufactures include building materials, petroleum compounds, and farm machinery. Minot State Univ. and a state agricultural experiment station are there. Nearby is Minot Air Force Base. Points of interest include the Theodore Roosevelt Park and Zoo and a nearby wildlife refuge.

Byline: ANI Washington, Jun 27 (ANI): American actor Josh Duhamel has revealed that he was left stunned when he heard that people actually believe squirrel is served at his Minot, North Dakota restaurant.
The North Dakota House voted 78-12 to endorse changing the name of Minot State University-Bottineau, a two-year college that was founded as the state's forestry school, to Dakota College at Bottineau.
Yet an unexpected thing happened: so few people applied for the Minot jobs that the Tampa-headquartered company will have to close the call center on May 10 -- a cutback by Sykes that will result in 200 people losing their jobs.
