Died in 1715, in Kandahar. Leader of the Ghilzai, a major group of Afghan tribes.

In 1709, Mir Vais led a liberation uprising in Kandahar against the rule of the Safavids. He was the first ruler of the independent khanate that was formed as a result of this rebellion.
