Established: Authorized on November 10, 1978; established on April 1, 1983. Location: Visitor center is near the intersection of Roosevelt Ave. and New Napier Ave. in San Antonio, Texas. Facilities: Rest rooms, bicycle trail, museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail. Activities: Hiking, bicycling, guided tour. Special Features: Four Spanish frontier missions (Concepción, San Jose, San Juan, and Espada), part of a colonization system that stretched across the Spanish Southwest in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, are preserved here.
