Miyako (mēyä`kō), city (1990 pop. 58,505), Iwate prefecture, NE Honshu, Japan, on the Hei River and Miyako Bay. It is an important fishing port with large timber and chemical industries.
Miyako a city and port in Japan on northeastern Honshu, Iwate Prefecture. Population, 60,000 (1970). The city is a fishing port and the center of the fishing industry.
