Mobile MusicID

Mobile MusicID

A music recognition service from Gracenote, Emeryville, CA (www.gracenote.com) that enables a person to identify a song by its sound. The listener dials a telephone number and holds up the phone to the source of the music. The Mobile MusicID system matches the soundwaves to a database of audio patterns to determine the name of the song. If it matches, it sends a text message to the phone to tell the person where the track can be purchased. See CDDB and online music database.
