Mogil’chenko, Grigorii Sergeevich
Born Dec. 17 (30), 1900, in the village of Ekaterinovka, in present-day Lozovaia Raion, Kharkov Oblast. Innovator in kolkhoz production, chairman of the S. Ordzhonikidze Kolkhoz, Lozovaia Raion, Kharkov Oblast, Ukrainian SSR since 1929. Decorated as a Hero of Socialist Labor in 1948 and again in 1958; member of the CPSU since 1949. Under Mogil’chenko’s leadership, his kolkhoz became one of the most advanced of the republic. It was awarded the Order of Lenin in 1967. Mogil’chenko was a delegate to the Twenty-first, Twenty-second, and Twenty-fourth Congresses of the CPSU and served as a deputy to the third through the eighth convocations of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1969 he was a delegate both to the Ukrainian Kolkhoz Congress and the Third All-Union Kolkhoz Congress. He was twice awarded the Order of Lenin, as well as the Order of the October Revolution, two other orders, and medals that include those of the Ail-Union Agricultural Exhibition and the Exhibition of the Achievements of the National Economy of the USSR.
