Mohammad Ali Javaheri

Javaheri, Mohammad Ali 

Born 1913. Iranian poet and public figure.

A teacher by training, Javaheri was editor of the newspaper Zafar (Victory) and was imprisoned in 1948 for his anti-imperialist activity. He later emigrated to Europe. Javaherïs poetry is permeated with the spirit of the liberation struggle, particularly the poem “Stream” and the satire The Ill-Starred Lullaby, or the International Song of the Capitalists. Javaherïs poems were included in the collection Literature of the Masses (1945).
