Mohammedia 

(formerly Fédala), a city on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, on the Rabat-Casablanca railroad and highway. Population, 70, 400 (1971). The city is a port for crude oil imports, with an annual volume of approximately 1.5 million tons (1971); a large oil refinery is located there. Local industries also include food, textiles, and metalworking.

Morocco will continue to import oil from Iran, which supplied more than a fourth of its crude in 2008, chief executive officer of Societe Anonyme Marocaine de l'Industrie du Raffinage told reporters at the company's headquarters in Mohammedia.
Morocco has only one world-scale refinery at Mohammedia, operated by Societe Anonyme Marocaine de l'Industrie du Raffinage (Samir).
