molar specific heat [′mō·lər spə‚sif·ik ‚hēt]
(physical chemistry) The ratio of the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1 mole of a compound 1°, to the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1 mole of a reference substance, such as water, 1° at a specified temperature.
