Monodrama

Also found in: Dictionary/thesaurus, Wikipedia 0.01 sec.
Monodrama

a drama designed to be performed by a single actor. Monodramas include the play-monologue (for example, Chekhov’s On the Harmfulness of Tobacco) and dramatic miniatures in the form of a conversation with a silent character (Briusov’s The Traveler}. The term is also applied to dramatic works having two or more characters whose roles are performed by a single actor (for example, miniatures of the Krivoe Zerkalo Theater in St. Petersburg and of the contemporary Soviet actor A. I. Raikin).
