Composed of two symmetrically thresholded hysteresis comparators whose outputs are combined by an OR gate, the dual comparator drives a conventional monostable multivibrator which produces a 1 ms pulse when incipient latch-up occurs.
User configurable monostable and astable modes are easily selected through the external programming port, with the astable mode enabling added triggering controls not supported by other 555 timers.
