Monura
an order of extinct wingless insects that lived in the late Paleozoic period. The insects lacked paired cerci and had an unpaired appendage on the end of the abdomen. They also had powerful maxillary palpi. The Monura lived on the soil surface. Fossils have been found in Upper Carboniferous deposits in Western Europe and in early Permian deposits in the Kuznets Basin of the USSR. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
