Moore, Grace

Moore, Grace (1901–47) soprano; born in Jellico, Tenn. After vocal studies in Maryland, she appeared in musical comedy in New York during the 1920s, then pursued further studies in France before making her Metropolitan Opera debut in 1928. She went on to a celebrated international career and appeared in several films. She died in a plane crash near Copenhagen.
