(Ca,Na2,K2)4Al8Si40O96·28H2O A zeolite mineral crystallizing in the orthorhombic system and found in minute crystals or fibrous concretions. Also known as arduinite; ashtonite; flokite; ptilolite.

In another study, we found that the mutagenic potential of mordenite was not enhanced by the addition of ferrous ion.
For example, after the Chernobyl nuclear accident, the mineral mordenite was added to animal feed in Sweden to remove cesium-137 from the gastrointestinal tracts of contaminated animals.
Thus, we used naturally occurring erionite and mordenite as well as an extensively studied synthetic zeolite based on faujasite (zeolite Y).
