Morogoro

Morogoro (mō'rōgō`rō), city (1994 est. pop. 120,000), capital of Morogoro prov., E Tanzania. It is the commercial and transportation center for a region producing sisal, coffee, and livestock. Tobacco is processed there.
Morogoro 

a city in Tanzania, the capital of Morogoro Region. Population, 25,300 (1967). Morogoro is a highway junction and has a railroad station. It is the trade center of an agricultural region that produces sisal, sugarcane, vegetables, grain, and other crops. Industry is represented by a sugar refinery, hulling and flour mills, metalworking, and the production of building materials.
