Morrow, Dwight (Whitney) (1873–1931) lawyer, banker, diplomat; born at Huntington, W.Va. U.S. ambassador to Mexico (1927), U.S. senator from New Jersey (1930–31), financial and legal adviser to presidents and generals, he was also the father of Ann Morrow, who shared her husband Charles Lindbergh's love of flying. A governmental backer of aviation, he chaired a presidential study of aeronautics and its application to national defense (1925) that led to the separation of regulations for commercial and military aircraft.
