Motor-Driven Compressor
a unit for compressing air or any other gas; it consists of a compressor and an internal-combustion piston engine to drive it. The compressor and engine may be combined into a single multicylinder unit; in this case some of the cylinders are used to compress the air and others are used for the power unit.
