Mott, C. S. (Charles Stewart) (1875–1973) automobile executive, philanthropist; born in Newark, N.J. He studied mechanical engineering and served in the Spanish-American War. He ran the Weston-Mott automobile parts company (1899–1913) and was a leading executive at General Motors (1913–67). He formed the Mott Foundation (1926) to finance cultural, educational, and health programs, especially in Flint, Michigan.
