Moumié, Félix Roland
Born Nov. 1, 1925, in Foumban; died Nov. 3, 1960, in Geneva. Political figure in Cameroon. Moumié was a graduate of the faculty of medicine at the Sorbonne. He was one of the organizers of the Union of the Cameroon Peoples (UPC), the party founded in 1948 to lead the liberation struggle against the colonizers in eastern Cameroon. In 1958 he became chairman of the UPC. Moumié was poisoned by agents of the colonizers’ Red Hand terrorist organization. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
