Lassen Peak

 

a volcano in the USA in the southern Cascade Mountains. Altitude, 3,187 m. It is active with long hiatuses; it was considerably active from 1914 to 1917. The region around the peak, with its lava fields, volcanic cones, geysers, hot springs, varied vegetation, and rich fauna, was set aside in 1916 as Lassen Volcanic National Park.
