Mounted Forager

    0.01 sec.
Forager, Mounted

a machine for field chopping straw from ricks or silage from field storage and loading the chopped material onto transport vehicles. In the USSR, foragers are mounted on 1.4-ton-force tractors, and their working members are driven from the tractor’s power-takeoff shaft. Mounted foragers can gather straw from ricks up to 5 m high; the width of the strip cleared (the length of the drum) is 1,200 mm. Productivity is 6.5 tons per hour for straw and 5.9 tons per hour for silage.
