Mowbray, Henry (Siddons) (1858–1928) painter; born in Alexandria, Egypt. His English parents emigrated to America (1859), and he studied art in Paris under Leon Bonnat (c. 1878). He then settled in New York City (1886), where he was a muralist for many libraries, churches, and courthouses. His most famous work is the decoration of the University Club, New York (c. 1901).
