Muar 

(Bandar Maharani), a city in Malaysia, in the state of Johore. Population, 39,100 (1957). The city is a port on the Strait of Malacca at the mouth of the Muar River. Muar exports rubber, coconuts, and bananas. A fishing industry is also important in the city.
