Muezzi, Abu Abdallah Mohammad Ibn Abd Al-Malik
Born about 1048–49; died 1127. Persian and Tadzhik poet. Muezzi was the son of the poet Burhani (about 1018–73). He was a court poet for the Seljuk sultans Malik Shah and Sanjar. He became famous for his brilliantly versified, panegyrical qasidas. Muezzi’s divan has been preserved, including 18,000 bayts (distichs). WORKSDivan. Tehran, 1318 A.H. (1939).REFERENCEBertel’s, E.
