Muinak

a city (until 1963, a settlement) in Kara-Kalpak ASSR, center of Muinak Raion. Port on the southern shore of the Aral Sea, on the Muinak Peninsula, 100 km north of the Kungrad railroad station (on the Chardzhou-Makat line) and 165 km from the city of Nukus. Population, 10,400 (1972). The center of a fishing region, Muinak has fish canneries. A muskrat farm is nearby.
