multihomed Having two or more network connections to the same type of network. For example, a server may have two or more connections to the LAN in order to improve performance. A server may also provide service to two distinct LAN segments that are not allowed to communicate with each other. Connecting a network to two ISPs for fault tolerance is also called multihoming.
