multihomed
Having two or more network connections to the same type of network. For example, a server may have two or more connections to the LAN in order to improve performance. A server may also provide service to two distinct LAN segments that are not allowed to communicate with each other. Connecting a network to two ISPs for fault tolerance is also called multihoming.

Multihoming Examples
Note that although the router at the bottom has interfaces to two networks, the networks serve different purposes. See dual-homed host.
