Munhall (mŭn`hôl), borough (1990 pop. 13,158), Allegheny co., SW Pa., a suburb of Pittsburgh, on the Monongahela River; inc. 1901. The once-large steel- and ironworks there have declined significantly along with the national steel industry. Office furniture and insulation tape are manufactured. Munhall was a site of the Homestead strike Homestead strike, in U.S. history, a bitterly fought labor dispute. On June 29, 1892, workers belonging to the Amalgamated Association of Iron and Steel Workers struck the Carnegie Steel Company at Homestead, Pa. to protest a proposed wage cut. Henry C.
